چکیده
Abstract Introduction The objective of the present research was to evaluate possible association between N-terminal pro-brain type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels and in-hospital mortality in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia patients who did not have pre-existing heart failure (HF). Methods A total 137 consecutive without HF hospitalized due COVID-19 were enrolled into current research. main outcome death. independent parameters linked with death determined by multivariable analysis. Results 26 deaths an rate 18.9% noted. Those died older increased frequency co-morbidities such as hypertension, chronic kidney disease, coronary artery stroke dementia. They had also white blood cell (WBC) counts elevated glucose, creatinine, troponin I, NT-pro-BNP but decreased hemoglobin. By analysis; age, NT-pro-BNP, WBC, creatinine independently mortality. After ROC evaluation, ideal value predict found 260 ng/L reflecting a sensitivity 82% specificity 93% (AUC:0.86; 95% CI: 0.76–0.97). Conclusion clearly shows that NT-proBNP are rates subjects HF. Thus, we believe this biomarker can be used valuable prognostic parameter cases. Funding Acknowledgement Type funding sources: None. Figure 1

متن کاملPrognostic Value of N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide Levels in Heart Failure Patients With and Without Atrial Fibrillation.
BACKGROUND Patients with heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF) have higher circulating levels of NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) than HF patients without AF. There is uncertainty about the prognostic importance of a given concentration of NT-proBNP in HF patients with and without AF. We investigated this question in a large cohort of patients with HF and reduced ...

Diagnostic Value of N Terminal Pro B Type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-pro BNP) in Cardiac Involvement in Patients with Beta- Thalassemia
Background Heart failure is a major cause of death in thalassemia. The study aimed to determine the diagnostic value of N Terminal Pro B Type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-pro BNP), to early diagnose the cardiac involvement in beta- thalassemia major patients. Materials and Methods 80 thalassemia patients aged 7 to 18 years old (patients group), and 80 healthy age and gender matched controls were ...
متن کاملB-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and N-terminal pro-BNP in obese patients without heart failure: relationship to body mass index and gastric bypass surgery.
BACKGROUND Further investigations are warranted to better characterize variables that may confound the clinical interpretation of plasma natriuretic peptide measurements, which are increasingly recognized to have diagnostic and predictive importance. METHODS Blood samples (EDTA plasma) from patients (n = 206) attending clinics for the medical treatment and follow-up of obesity were analyzed f...
